As a prime holder of an A/E VISN 10 IDIQ contract, Guidon was selected to design a 13,000 sf outpatient Behavioral Health addition to the main ambulatory care center and 4,500 sf renovation of existing space for Medicine Specialty and Primary Care clinics. Designed as a single story expansion in keeping with the campus master plan, this project also improves wayfinding for the medical campus overall and corrects a HIPPA patient-privacy deficiency in the existing Behavioral Health waiting and check-in area.

Expansion and Renovation
Listening and Collaboration
After developing a basic space program using the Space and Equipment Planning System (SEPS), Guidon led a series of charrettes and end-user meetings to collaboratively develop initial design concepts and floorplans. To help focus the effort on improved patient outcomes and proven healthcare design techniques, our team researched the most current mental health best practices from the Center for Health Care Design and Planetree. The project ensures a LEED Silver equivalency through the use of daylighting, enhanced commissioning, and indoor air quality management, among others sustainable features.
