1221 Penn was designed to set the standard in Indianapolis for sustainability and wellness. Guidon transformed the former FBI headquarters in the Old Northside into a dynamic, healthy, and highly sustainable open office.  The building features a glass lightwell with vegetated roof, natural cedar accents, a solar array, and strong connection to place. The final product exceeded all sustainability goals and is Indiana’s first LEED v4 Platinum building.

The Julia M Carson Transit Center is the $26.5M hub for Indianapolis mass transit and a signature project in the renaissance of downtown Indianapolis. The 14,000 sf facility was designed with modern, sleek lines to present iconic architecture and design to the community. Julia Carson was an ardent advocate for equity and would have been proud of the dignified, empowering transit hub.

Guidon designed a 13,000 sf addition to the main ambulatory care center to expand outpatient Behavioral Health services and renovate approximately 4,500 sf of existing space for Medicine Specialty and Primary Care clinics. Guidon led a series of charrettes and end-user meetings to collaboratively develop initial design concepts and floorplans.  To help focus the effort on improved patient outcomes and proven healthcare design techniques, our team researched the most current mental health best practices from the Center for Health Care Design and Planetree.

Guidon was directly engaged by the State of Indiana Family & Social Services Administration to program and begin the design for the NeuroDiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. This 159 bed facility represents a novel model of care for behavioral health in Indiana, a state-of-the-art facility.
