Guidon Design is a dynamic +50 person A/E firm located in Indianapolis. We are known for our sustainable designs and focus on healthcare and high-profile governmental projects. As an Project Architect with Guidon Design, you will be creating high-quality construction documents and design details, supporting project managers, and traveling to job site for on-site construction administration and site inspections to assess the quality of work. You will be working in a company that listens to its clients and provides exactly what they need.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in assigned field
  • Professional license or certification/registration within discipline
  • Requisite experience in their field

Responsibilities:

  • Strong experience managing high-quality set of construction documents.
  • Proactive and assertive in problem solving
  • Good written, oral communications, staff management and client relationship skills
  • Create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions
  • Strong work ethic and a drive to exceed client expectations
  • Write proposals and establish project budgets and managing staff to meet these budgets
  • Manage, invoices and revenue recognition
  • Develop, maintain and meet project schedules and deliverables
  • Work with Team Leader to assign tasks to staff and coordinate resource needs
  • Assist with quality control and risk management
  • Maintain a technical expertise in your profession and area of work to include new products, software and tools that will assist you in better meeting our client’s needs
  • Be willing to put in the effort to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Assist in selection of sub-consultants
  • Familiarity and experience working with applicable codes, rules and/or AHJs
  • Participate in the sales and marketing of Guidon’s services to existing and new clients
  • Look for opportunities to add to and upsell Guidon services with our clients

Skills/Qualities:

  • Extensive experience working within professional services firm
  • Ability to mentor, provide guidance and be a technical educator for staff
  • Broad understanding and experience with design and office related computer software and operating systems. Software proficiency related to discipline required
  • Comfortable with designing and overseeing a broad range of project types
  • Proactive and assertive in problem solving
  • Experience managing parallel assignments
  • Good written, oral communications, staff management and client relationship skills
  • Comfortable in making group presentations
  • Act as a leader to project team
  • Support teammates and act as a mentor and educator where needed
  • Create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions
